Help with different theme.

PostAuthor: linuxxpert on Wed Aug 12, 2009 8:23 pm

Hello,

I know this is a lot to ask but is there anybody who could help me out with getting the calendar to work with a different theme?
I have the calendar working fine on prosilver and thought it would be easy to get it to work on any theme.... I was wrong :)
My forum is located on http://www.extreme-caching.com/forums and you can see why prosilver just doesn't cut it so I installed the acidtech theme that with a little tweaking looks great. But I can't get the calendar to work with this theme.... any help would be greatly apprecitated.

You will want to wait for Stu's next release which will hopefully have a fix for subsilver based themes. I am also waiting for this release.

I'll play around with it a little more... its basically just HTML with some scripting... I think the main trouble is that acidtech doesn't use those tabs... I'll need to figure out how to get it all on one page and still have it look good :) What would be really great is if this mod is theme independent.... but I am not sure if that's possible..... maybe one day :)

Ok, I did it! http://www.extreme-caching.com/forums

Got the calendar to work on acid tech theme! It involved a lot of html coding since acidtech does not use tabs and I had it make it work on one page. I am sure there are a few things I missed but it seems to work great.

Thanks for the great mod!

Basically it came down to rewriting the "calendar layout" html file and the "calendar editor" with some minor tweaks to the other html files. So that the page that got produced looked like my theme. There are a few things that don't seem to work but I don't care about those... the days calculator doesn't work.... so I took it of the site.. not worth the trouble.... and the PM in the event overview does not work either... the link is right but somehow it does not recognize the OP.... not very important either.

One thing that still puzzles me is the Repeat Event section of the form... when you click yes it creates an extra "field" for additional options... in my case I wanted it to create a extra row with 2 columns in my table.... no matter what I did it ignores "colspan="2"" and 3 hours later I gave up on that and decided to live with it.

Cool beans (cool)
Would you mind sending me your modified theme? I might be able to tweak the parts that didn't work and add it to next release. No promises on a time scale for this unfortunately as I have a LOT on my plate right now (:[).
Cheers,
Stu

I had the same issue using Black Pearl theme.
I tried doing the edits and when I got to the style file edits, the instructions asked to look for lines that were not there and I was unable to find anything similar.
I pretty much gave up on it for the time being.

Is it the styles that are not keep to be similar in creation so that mods can be added easily with any of them, or is it the mod that isn't compatible with all.

I myself think the themes seem to be to different.

I have installed the calender mod on our website and have the same problem :(
We use acidtech and the calender is unusable and unfortunatly i dont have the skill to make it work with this theme.

If you could come up with a solution for us acidetech users it would be awesome!

Many thanks,
Lee.
